Connor Peterson

Instructor

Cello

Connor Peterson has been teaching private music lessons for six years and is currently completing his Bachelor's degree in Music Performance at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. His teaching style is well-rounded, focusing on helping students build strong fundamentals while encouraging musical expression. While he enjoys working with students of all ages, he particularly connects with high school musicians. Connor finds the most rewarding part of teaching to be those "aha" moments when a concept clicks for a student. His journey as an instructor was inspired by his younger brother, who asked him to teach him how to play the cello. Connor has experience preparing students for auditions and performances, and he especially enjoys playing and teaching Romantic-era music. Outside of music, he loves rock climbing. He is currently a member of the UNL Symphony and the Ravnan String Quartet and has had the incredible opportunity to perform as a substitute for the Omaha Symphony multiple times.

"Connor has been such a great fit for my son! Connor provides a positive environment to learn, grow, and have fun. This is my son's second year playing cello and the first time taking private lessons. I have seen and heard improvement in his technique and sound through the fall semester and am looking forward to the next round of improvement."
